The Magic of the Capoeira Game

We learn movements, sequences, and concepts in class so we can step into the roda — to play, move, and connect. It’s not about fighting; it’s about exchanging energy, expressing yourself, and creating a flowing dialogue through movement.

The game of Capoeira is where the magic truly happens.

Along the way, you’ll build strength, flexibility, and coordination — while discovering the joy of connection and rhythm.

"You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."

Frequently asked questions

I have never done martial arts or dance, can I still participate?

Absolutely! Capoeira is a great way to get into Movement. Our Classes are designed to challenge all levels of practitioners and zero experience or abilities are needed to start. Our teachers use a patented methodology, developed and proven over 25 years. You will progress at your own pace in a safe and enjoyable manner

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose sports clothes. No Shorts or sleeveless shirts please, since some of the movements are inverted. Most participants train barefoot but flexible indoor thin-soled shoes are also acceptable.

How can I prepare for my first class?

If you want to get a head start on some of the basic movements in Capoeira, you can check out our Online Quick Capoeira Crash Course, a link will be sent in your confirmation email. Please arrive 15 minutes before class to orient yourself to the location and meet the teacher. Bring a positive attitude and a smile, we will do the rest.

Is there a belt system & how do I progress through it?

Yes, we have a curriculum and a proprietary methodology. Every year students graduate through a belt system based on their attendance and progress. When you join the community you will receive all the information.

Do I need a partner?

No a partner is not necessary but we highly encourage you to bring a friend since it has been proven to help with consistency and motivation towards achieving your goals.

Is it ok if I'm a bit late on my first day?

Classes start on time with a specific warm-up and physical preparation. We can not accept students that did not warm up for safety reasons. Plan to arrive 10-15 min before class starts. If you are late you are more than welcome to sit in and watch the class.

How long is each class?

Classes run for 60 minutes, and sometimes we go a few minutes over (about 5–10) if we're in a good flow.

How long before I can expect to see results?

Every student starts at a different level and progresses at their own pace. Most people begin to feel more comfortable after just 4 or 5 sessions. By the end of the 6-week Foundations Program you will already feel confident with the basic movements of Capoeira and ready to keep building from there.
